About the Department

Vivekananda Mission Mahavidyalaya was established on 9 th August 1968 having Political Science as one of the pass subjects on and from 1970-71 academic session, the institution got permission to teach Honour s UG courses in Political Science. Now the academic result in the University examination has been running with a good number of students along with three Assistant Professor and three state aided Government teachers. Department of political science, Vivekananda Mission Mahavidyalaya always adopt student’s friendly teaching learning process at the time of classroom teaching. Except the traditional chalk and talk method department also used different interacting classes, group discussion, tutorial classes etc. Apart from this department also arranged another method of teaching like ICT, we have a numbers of smart room. Regularly department used to published wall magazine, we have two mode of publication on line and off line. Apart from study students are also encouraged to take part in Youth Parliament competition, various NSS activities, cultural activities, inter- college sports competition etc. The socio-economic background of most of the students are not satisfactory. In recent time department is also introducing an induction programme for the newcomer students. Hope it will be beneficial for our students. We have also “Mentor-Mentee” group by which students can share their personal problems doubt, get the assistance for higher education and guidance of research etc.
