Central Library
Vivekananda Mission Mahavidyalaya Library was started in the year 1968 when the College started. The library had started its journey with a few collections of Books in a small room on the ground floor of the main building. As of now, the Central Library has more than 29,000 volumes (approximately) of books purchased through the grants received from the State Govt., the Director of Public Instruction (D.P.I.), the University Grants Commission (U.G.C.), UGC:MRP, and the MHRD (RUSA). Apart from this, there are Books donated by Kumar Chandra Smriti Raksha Samiti, ovarani Library, the District Magistrate, and many other distinguished persons. Facilities :
- The Central Library with all its sections is computerized. Cataloguing, OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue), and Online Circulation with barcode technology are done through computers connected to high-speed broad band.
- Stocks of all necessary References, Journals, Serials, Pamphlets and Newspapers.
- The Central Library is a registered member of N:LIST (National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content) of INFLIBNET (An Autonomous Inter : University Centre of U.G.C.) which provides valuable E:Resources like E:Books, E:Journals, etc. through its network.
- Provides E:Books in CD/ DVD version.
- Free internet facilities for the users with high-speed broad band.
- Provides Institutional Membership facility of the Central Library, Vidyasagar University.
- Provides permanent Loan Facilities to all the Departmental Libraries.
- Card Catalogue facilities are also provided by the Central Library. Newspaper Clippings, New Arrivals Display and Career Guidance Cell are also done here.
- Book Trolley and Ladder facilities are also available here.
- Maintains the concept of Green Library.
