Teachers' Council
The Teachers’ Council is a statutory body that takes the keen responsibility of quality assurance at the level of teaching-learning and evaluation. It is formed with all the permanent faculty members including the librarian reflecting on the principles of participation in decision making process in a democratic environment. The Teachers’ Council of our Mahavidyalaya is an active and vibrating body which strives collectively for all round academic and administrative excellence of the college.
Composition:
All the full-time teachers including the college librarian appointed in substantive post are the members of the Teachers’ Council. As par the statute of Vidyasagar University, the Teachers’ Council Secretary shall be one who is either elected or selected from the said members and Principal or Teacher-in-Charge of the college acts as the Ex-officio President of that council.
Objectives:
The primary aim of the council is to bring proposals to the table and adopt resolutions on various academic, administrative and infrastructural issues of the college through conducting a number of meetings. The resolutions taken are recommended to the principal for implementation.
Functions:
As it is a statutory platform for teachers as well as a democratic benchmark, the council performs vital functions all throughout the year. It plays a key role in maintaining cordial interrelationships among the administration, the students and the teachers to motivate the students to perform various activities in the college. The council looks into the proper designing and implementation of the planning related to the academic affairs of the college including admission, examinations, preparation of class routine, sports, cultural activities etc. For the smooth conduct of the overall activities of the college, different committees and sub-committees are constituted with the faculty members of the college under the supervision of the council. The members of the committees are entrusted with the responsibility of implementing the action plans. The Teachers’ Council honours all invited personal occasions of esteemed colleagues of both teaching and non-teaching staff of our Mahavidyalaya like birthdays, marriages, condolences, etc. The farewell of honourable colleagues is also organized.
With the cooperation from all corners of the college, the council aims to achieve success in all its endeavours.
