About the Department

The department of Sociology was started in the academic session 2013-14 at our college and the subject is taught as a general subject from the beginning till date. In the first year itself, the college had 81 students enrolled themselves in this subject. The subject got introduced in the college to increase the personality of the student and inculcate a better understanding about the society among them. Sociology is the scientific study of society, patterns of social relationships, social interaction and culture of everyday life. It is a social science that uses various methods of empirical investigation and critical analysis to develop a body of knowledge about social order, acceptance and change or social evolution. The department has only one SACT teacher who takes all the departmental responsibilities on his shoulders.
