Anti-Ragging Cell

Organization-wide Awareness and Undertakings on Policies with Zero Tolerance Towards Ragging & Sexual Harassment:

Vivekananda Mission Mahavidyalaya is steadfast in upholding a culture of safety and respect through a comprehensive organization-wide awareness mechanism as listed below:

• Our college adheres to ‘ZERO TOLERANCE’ for sexual harassment, discrimination based on religion and any short of Caste related issues. It follows ICC 2013 Act to prevent sexual harassment of women at work place.
• This College displays ‘Ragging Free Campus’ on its website and forms an ‘Anti-Ragging Committee’ to prevent Ragging within the college premises following the Supreme Court Order (2009).
• Display boards of “Ragging Free Campus” and “Prevention of Sexual Harassment” are put up at Administrative Building, Science Building, Canteen, Central Library and Hostels.
• Our college organizes awareness programme on ‘Code of Conduct of Rules of the College’ during Induction Programme each year at the starting of an academic session.
• Seminars and lectures on anti-ragging, gender sensitization, gender equity, zero discrimination, ethics and value education are organized to spread the message loud and clear to all.
• Mentoring classes are regularly organized for the students.
• Vivekananda Mission Mahavidyalaya has adapted the ‘zero tolerance policy’ in regard of any instances of ragging in its campus as well as in its hostels.
• The Anti-Ragging Committee of the college is intended to keep the college campus ragging free and to augment the academic environment of the institute. Students in distress due to ragging related incidents can contact any member of this cell. The college will take strict action against those found guilty of ragging.
